I married, divorced, then started writing. I've always enjoyed writing, but didn't have the extra time until my family was grown. I joined a national writers groups for romance. I had never read a romance novel so I had a lot to learn, and I started reading romance. I finally became interested in writing a murder mystery. I started writing, then, after about 13,000 words realized that I didn't know anything about writing a murder mystery. I was still writing the story like a romance novel without the romance.

I stopped writing and started researching how to write a murder mystery. I found you need to include all sorts of things. The main one I didn't know about was leaving false clues leading to people that did not commit the murder, or that lead nowhere. That's when I started rewriting my novel from scratch.
